Why keep a separate copy?

Sync is convenient.
A separate copy is reassuring.

01

Deletions sync, too.

A deletion in iCloud can reach your other devices. Completed local backups are not automatically deleted with the cloud copy.

02

Memories keep growing.

Save original photos and videos to a drive you choose, and build an independent archive of the moments you collect.

03

Manual backups get forgotten.

Set a schedule to save new photos. Resume interrupted tasks instead of organizing everything from scratch.

  • Choose your own folders
  • Keep an optional second local copy
  • PhotoKeeper does not host your photos

How it works

A backup habit,
in three simple steps.

Connect your own iCloud photo library, choose a destination, and set your backup schedule.

01

Sign in to your Apple Account

Complete sign-in and two-factor authentication in the client to connect your iCloud Photos library.

02

Choose a home for your photos

Select a local folder or external drive, choose your backup scope, and leave enough room for the originals.

03

Set your backup in motion

Activate a license, then start manually or set a schedule. Cloud backups run while the app is open and online.

Your photos stay on storage you control.

PhotoKeeper connects directly to your iCloud photo library. It does not upload, edit, or delete cloud content, or build a photo library hosted by us.

Frequently asked questions

A few things
before you begin.

More help and support
Why back up if I already use iCloud?

iCloud Photos keeps devices in sync, including deletions. PhotoKeeper helps you save an additional, independent local copy. Completed backup files are not automatically removed when cloud content is deleted. It does not automatically clean up or free iCloud storage.

What can I do in the free preview?

The free preview displays locally available media and up to the latest 100 cloud thumbnails per signed-in Apple Account. New original downloads, full library synchronization, manual backup, and scheduled backup require an activated license.

Can I use an external drive?

Yes. Choose a local folder or a supported external drive, and optionally enable a second backup folder. Keep the drive connected with sufficient free space. Network storage is outside formal support for the initial release.

Which systems are supported? Do I need to stay online?

The initial release supports Windows 11 x64 versions still supported by Microsoft. Sign-in, cloud access, purchase, and periodic license refresh require internet access. Activated licenses allow up to 30 days offline between refreshes. Local backup files can be opened with other compatible software.

Where do I redeem an invitation code?

Redeem your code on the activation screen inside the PhotoKeeper client. Sign in to the Apple Account you want to bind before entering the code. License seats bind permanently to the confirmed Apple Account. There is no separate redemption page on this website.

Can I download or purchase it now?

Version 0.1.0 is being prepared; a public installer is not available yet. Purchasing will open after Paddle completes account and website approval. You can review the features, prices, and policies here in the meantime.
